The Mood Journey Newsletter Week 9

Lets not just survive, lets REIGN!

For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.”
Romans 5:17

Hello sweet Mummas,

Welcome to another week of life in motherhood! I am glad you are here and thankful to have a community to journey alongside together in running this race well. Today I have been reminded that in each situation their is good and bad, hard and easy. Look at what is infront of you right now and name all the good. The reality is that it is there if you see it or not. So may as well open your eyes and train your brain to see! Instead of seeing the mess, the tears, the chaos - lets see the eyes, the looks of deep love and safety, the toys that were each bought or received with love and intension, the make believe play that occurred, the years of prayers and struggle that brought about a child so grand. Gratitude is one of the most powerful tools in motherhood to bring a mundane day into something wonderful!!

Real Life in the motherhood journey:

This last week was a bit of a full one for our family ….. but mainly because of dealing with sickness that then brought about loads and loads of laundry all day for two days which was very full on. Our week started in this way but then continued on to fun homeschool group meet up at a farm, fun homeschool lessons, baking treats with the blackberries we harvested a few months ago, Saturday family fun and an awesome church session (where God spoke so personally to me which was amazing as I havent had that for a while bringing me to tears. I have been holding onto the verse Jeremiah 33:3!) and then fun time with my family who came down to visit. Here are some very mundane shots of the beauty and joy that occur in every day moments:

Get some ideas!

Here is a little glimpse into my usual eatings as a breastfeeding mumma of 4. I always find these things helpful so hopefully you do to:

Breakfast usually consists of a slice of home made sourdough with butter and 2-3 fried eggs )in butter with sauerkraut ontop (Im obsessed with this combo) and then sometimes an extra topping like fetta or goats cheese/caramelised onion or a home made tomato sauce. With this I have a roibios tea with milk and raw honey.

I then have a morning coffee with consists of hot frothy milk and a dash of maple syrup (try and make sure this is at least an hour after eating breaky)

Lunch is always left oven dinners (I find I really need protein and fat in my lunch so a simple sand-which wont cut it. I need the meat haha)

In the afternoon ill often have a herbal tea (specific ones to help boost certain health things. Right now Im back on my home grown mint tea as I need to reduce my breastmilk!) or I will have a snack which I have shared our common snacks on previous emails.

Dinner will be just a usual family meal like spagetti, burritos, soup ect.

I don’t usually have dessert just because I enjoy finishing on savoury and so will slip in any sweet treats or chocolate before dinner.

I end my night with my liver supplements just before bed!

Walking in His truth:

The bible verse for this week email is so so powerful! The book of Romans is an absolute powerhouse of truth and revelation that is so life changing and I find that every time I go back and visit it, fresh words come forth. If you havent spent much time in this book I encourage you to. And if you find it a bit heavy or confusing, try reading in the passion translation first so that you can see the heart of it a bit more. SO SO beautiful. Todays passage is talking about how we REIGN in life because of what Christ has done. Brad and I have been encouraged by a sermon recently that we need to make sure we are not purely having a survival mentality to areas of our life. But that we are standing in faith in the sacrifice and desire of our King Jesus to REIGN alongside Him through the heavenly realms to all things we face in this life. God doesn’t want His people to be desperately suffering and taking from others because of lack all the time. He wants us to be a light on a hill, a holy temple of beauty and a warrior with His strength.

Looking up this verse and specifically the word REIGN in the blb bible it means: to be king, exercise kingly power. And then finding the definition of this word also includes being the best or most important in a particular area. This can apply to all areas of life, but here applying it to motherhood this means that we can apply faith, believing its God will (through knowing His heart through His word) that we will be successfull, able and GREAT in how we mother, how we lead our children to God, how we clean, how we care for others, how we see God and receive His truths and so on. Just that switch form hoping and asking to knowing and receiving is powerful.

Remember it is a FREE GIFT of grace and righteousness that enables you to reign in your life, standing in your true place of authority and identity, in your King Jesus who brings all things under His dominion and truth. You are His and He is in you. and together we have not only just got this, we can thrive, enjoy and reign over all we put our hands to with joy in our hearts.

Love always
